Come down to The Farm for two lovely evenings (June 22 & June 29) filled with storytelling and free tasty vegetarian fare, featuring fresh produce from our harvest.

In conjunction with Richmond 150 Community Celebration Program, we are playing host to two speakers who have deep ties to the city’s rich agricultural history. A Q&A session and an exhibit from the Richmond Archives will supplement each presentation.

June 22nd: Speaker Bill McNulty, a long term Richmond resident and city councillor, will be focusing on Richmond’s agricultural history from the late 1800s.

June 29th: Speaker Jane Komori, who has a family background in BC farming, will focus on Japanese Canadian history, and be discussing the resilience and creativity that surrounds food production in their communities.

Oral storytelling is the oldest form of record keeping and we are so pleased to be able to facilitate such an event. After the invited speakers present, each evening will include a free catered vegetarian meal representing the evening’s theme. Attendees will also have a chance to see what a working farm looks like in modern times through Farm tours conducted by our knowledgeable staff.

The event will take place outside in The Healing Garden but in the case of bad weather, will be moved to The Red Barn.
