Fishing has sustained local Aboriginal people nutritionally, culturally, and spiritually for thousands of years. Stó:lō Cultural Historian, Dr. Sonny McHalsie, will share his personal connections to fishing on the Fraser River following the screening of a short film, Stó:lō – The Big River. Produced by the Fraser River Discovery Centre, the 12-minute film shares the Musqueam and Stó:lō oral histories of how salmon came to the Fraser River.
