The Richmond Earth Day Youth (REaDY) Summit is an annual youth-led, youth oriented conference that promotes environmental awareness and action through engaging speakers and workshops. The event provides the opportunity for local high school and elementary school students to learn innovative, practical and sustainable actions to create positive change for future generations.

This year’s theme is “Growing towards another 150” and will focus on home-grown achievements in sustainability success and place-based environmental action to encourage youth to address issues happening now in their neighbourhood, city and country. Local youth leaders, sustainability experts and professionals throughout the region will be leading hands-on and engaging workshops. As a special addition for REaDY 2017, a local artist will be selected to develop a unique Canada 150 legacy piece with the students and participants during the Summit. The piece will reflect the theme of Canadian sustainability and local natural history and will be donated to the host school as well as displayed on a temporary basis at Richmond City Hall.
