Rediscover Tram Car 1220

Take a step back in time and Rediscover Tram Car 1220 as restoration nears completion. Festivities take place on Sunday, October 1 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Steveston Interurban Tram. Celebrate the history of the interurban line and the substantial completion of restoration as Mayor Malcolm Brodie officially reveals Tram Car 1220 at 1:30 p.m.

Enjoy an instrumental journey through song with Canadian Folk Music Award nominated artist, Chris Ronald as his thoughtfully arranged harmonies conjure memories of times gone by. Enjoy light refreshments while learning about the restoration process from dedicated volunteers.

Be among the first to explore the various restored elements of the 105 year old interurban tram car. Engage with costumed student actors that will create a historic atmosphere reminiscent of when the tram once rolled along the Steveston’s rails.

This free family friendly event is the perfect opportunity to discover the history of Tram Car 1220 and the important role it played in Richmond’s development. The Steveston Interurban Tram Building is located at 4011 Moncton Street in the heart of Steveston Village.
